A call from an off-duty police officer led to an impaired driving arrest in Prince Edward County
On Sunday April 5, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver called in by an officer who was off duty at the time. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and an Approved Screening Device was used. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
Travis ROBBINS, age 49 of Prince Edward County has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
- Fail to notify change of address, licence
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on Wednesday May 6, 2026. Their driver’s licence was also suspended for a period of 90 days and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.
