UPDATE – the Special Weather Statement for the area was lifted by 8 am.
A brief but intense snowfall could affect road conditions and driver visibility in Quinte on Tuesday morning.
Upwards of 10 centimetres of snowfall is being predicted by Environment Canada in a special weather statement.
The national weather agency says the snowfall is expected to last into early Tuesday afternoon for areas near the St. Lawrence River.
It is being described as sometimes “brief but intense”.
Given that the heavy snow will be brief, the primary hazard will be significantly reduced visibility as opposed to snowfall accumulations.
Drivers are asked to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions and the Tuesday morning commute may be impacted as a result.
