After a competitive PJHL season and a thrilling playoff run, the Picton Pirates will be searching for a new bench boss.
In a statement to the media, Jamie Lane announced he is resigning from the head coach/GM position effective immediately.
Lane stated his reasoning for resigning was in part due to his vision for the team and the direction of the organization no longer aligning with that of the Pirates board of directors.
“Additionally, decisions have been made that I cannot support, and as a result, I believe this is the right step,” Lane explained.
He thanked the players, staff, and the entire organization for the opportunity to lead the team to success.
“To the volunteers, billets, and families, thank you for everything you do behind the scenes to support these players. Most importantly, thank you to the fans. Your support, passion, and dedication never went unnoticed and made this experience truly special.”
A search for a new coach and GM is underway ahead of the 2026-27 PJHL season.
