Youth arrested and charged in Kingston robbery

Members of the Kingston Police Patrol Division have arrested and charged a young person following a robbery at a downtown business.

On March 30, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m. the accused entered a business located in the 300 block of Princess Street. The accused tried on several items in the store and then attempted to exit the store without paying for them.

When confronted by an employee the accused pushed the employee backwards and fled from the store.

Responding officers were able to identify the accused from CCTV footage in the store.

At 5:30 p.m. the 17-year-old accused was arrested and charged with robbery and mischief not exceeding $5000. They were transported to Kingston Police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
