UPDATE – Scattered power outages hitting Quinte on Tuesday morning

By Paul Martin Mar 17, 2026 | 6:06 AM

UPDATE 7:30 am Tuesday – the Consecon outage was cleared with power restored to all homes around 7:15 am. The two other outages in Prince Edward County are still in effect.

ORIGINAL STORY – The power grid is mostly intact, but we have been hit with a handful of outages as the day begins on Tuesday.

One of the larger blackouts was affecting more than 300 locations in the Consecon area.

Another 2-300 homes are in the dark in the southeast corner of the County.

There are close to half a dozen outages in the Bancroft area, which has barely recovered from last week’s ice storms.

Hydro one Crews are out in force, and they hope to have power restored and people back on the grid later this morning.
