Schools in North Hastings closed on Wednesday due to threat of freezing rain

Schools in the North Hastings/Bancroft area are closed on Wednesday due to the threat of freezing rain.

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board issued the following notice early this morning.

All schools in North Hastings are closed today, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, due to the forecast for significant and prolonged freezing rain. Students and staff should not go to school. Families received an email and SMS from HPEDSB just after 5:30 AM this morning.

The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board also posted the following notice about school closures for Wednesday.

ALCDSB has closed Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School in Bancroft and St. Martin of Tours Catholic School in Whitney due to inclement weather.
