Lancers bid farewell to Lancerdome with raucous winning weekend

It’s history in the making for Loyalist Lancers Basketball.
For the first time in program history, both women’s & men’s basketball teams have earned a spot in the OCAA Final Four Championship, in a finale worthy of the Lancerdome’s legacy.
With stands packed and energy surging, the atmosphere inside the gym exemplified everything the Lancerdome has meant to the college community.
The Lancers Women’s Basketball team continued their undefeated season with a gritty 74–69 victory over the West Division’s 4th‑place St. Clair Saints. The semifinal berth adds another milestone to an already remarkable year—one that includes an East Division Championship and a long list of OCAA major award winners.
The women now advance to the 2026 OCAA Women’s Championship, hosted by the Mohawk Mountaineers on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8. Loyalist will face the Humber Hawks in the semifinal with a chance to compete for OCAA gold on the line.
Not to be outdone, the Lancers Men’s Basketball team delivered an electric performance of their own, battling to a 94–89 win over the Sheridan Bruins. The victory pushes Loyalist’s winning streak to nine straight and sends the team to the OCAA Final Four for the first time in recent memory.
The men will compete at the 2026 OCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, hosted by the St. Clair Saints in Windsor. They, too, will clash with the Humber Hawks in the semifinal, seeking their path to a championship final.
As both programs head into Final Four weekend, they carry not only momentum, but the pride of an entire campus community behind them.
