Albert College grad welcomed as new Board of Governors Chair

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 20, 2025 | 3:04 PM

Albert College has brought in a past graduate to fill the Chair position on its Board of Governors.

The school announced Belleville resident David Clegg officially took on the role at the board’s annual general meeting earlier this month.

Clegg will work with the board to position the school for the future by continuing to implement the school’s Strategic Plan.

He succeeds past Chair Kerry Lorimer, whose tenure includes 10 years on the board with two years as chair. The College is grateful for her dedication to the school and thanks her for her service as she continues as past chair on the board this year.

Clegg became a member of the Board of Governors in 2020 and attended Albert as a day student from 1981 to 1986.

Following his graduation, he received his BA from the University of Western Ontario, followed by a degree in long-term administration from Toronto Metropolitan University. He is also the owner of Belmont Long Term Care Facility in Belleville.

The Board also paid tribute to four exceptional volunteers whose time on the board has ended. These include Craig Bridgewater ’88, Elizabeth Cameron, Jeff Waplak and Ping Wu ’83.
