By Paul Martin Feb 18, 2026 | 8:00 AM

UPDATE FOR 7:45 AM – Fog advisory has been lifted for all areas. It was in effect overnight for most of the Quinte Region and extended as far east as Kingston.

UPDATED STORY for 7 AM – Heavy fog is causing reduced visibility again in the Quinte Region on Wednesday morning with another significant weather hazard only hours away.

A Fog Advisory (yellow) has been issued for Prince Edward County, Napanee and Kingston.

Fog was very heavy in the overnight period with poor visibility and that is expected to continue through the early morning hours.

A Winter Storm Warning (yellow) is now in effect for a widespread area that includes Belleville, Quinte West, PEC, Brighton and Napanee.

Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected to fall starting late Wednesday morning or early in the afternoon and continuing through Wednesday evening.

Several hours of freezing rain are also possible with ice build-up of 2 to 5 mm.

That will create icy and slippery conditions.

None of the above advisories are currently in effect for Centre and North Hastings.
