Registration for program to keep kids warm over the winter season returns in Quinte

Registration is now open for the return of a program that helps local children stay warm this winter.

Parents and guardians of children ages 0–12 in Belleville, Stirling, Prince Edward County, and Central Hastings (Madoc, Marmora, and Tweed) can register from Monday, September 14 to September 25 for the annual Adopt-A-Child Keep Kids Warm Program.

Adopt-A-Child is a community partnership that supports working families and those in need of assistance by providing children with new winter outerwear, including snowsuits and boots.

Residents can register in person at each police location between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., as well as online.

Applicants should bring identification for the custodial parent or guardian and child.

Winter clothing pick-up will take place at the Prince Edward County OPP Detachment on November 3 and 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
