Water and sewer work continues in Quinte West this summer.

TRENTON TRUNK SEWER PROJECT UPDATE ![]()
Work continues on the new underground trunk sewer being installed in the west end of Trenton. This project, which began in summer 2025 and will continue through 2027, will help increase water and sewer capacity for up to 5,000 new homes.
Project progress:
The trunk sewer installation that runs north of Carrying Place Road from approximately Dufferin Avenue to 2nd Dug Hill Road has been completed
Ongoing construction continues:
Near Fraser Park and Quinte Street, which will advance toward Victoria Avenue along Creswell Drive
At the end of Victoria Avenue, which will advance toward Dufferin Avenue
This work is expected to continue this summer and into the fall.
Road closures and traffic impacts:
Beginning later this week, traffic from the Hillside Meadows subdivision will be detoured north to Highway 2 via Appledene Drive and Tripp Boulevard
Temporary traffic signals and a barrier system will remain in place near Dead Creek on the southern stretch of 2nd Dug Hill Road
Fraser Park Drive will remain closed to through traffic into the fall for ongoing construction in this area
Next steps:
Fall 2026: Crews will return to raise and widen the road on the southern section of 2nd Dug Hill Road near Dead Creek
Winter 2026 and spring 2027: The final stage of construction is scheduled for Highway 2 between County Road 40 and 2nd Dug Hill Road
