The TMHF Golf Classic, title-sponsored by Smylie’s Your Independent Grocer, raised $109,336.31 net this year in support of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Emerge Stronger campaign. Held August 14 at Oak Hills Golf Club, the tournament brought together golfers, sponsors, volunteers and community supporters to help fund the medical equipment needed for the expansion of Trenton Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department.
Lindsay Butcher Dodds, Executive Director of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, shared:
“We’re so grateful to our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, donors and everyone who helped make the day possible. It takes a lot of people coming together to make this tournament happen, and their support means so much to TMH.”
The day also featured the Helicopter Golf Ball Drop, sponsored by Al and Cindy DeWitt of County Cemetery Company and 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours. Ball #2141, belonging to Jo-Ellen W., landed closest to the target and won the $7,500 grand prize. Another highlight came on the course when a golfer scored a hole-in-one, winning a prize sponsored by Bay Marine Trenton.
Jess and Ian Smylie of Smylie’s Your Independent Grocer, the tournament’s title sponsors, shared:
“We’re so thankful for all the volunteers who gave their time to make the day possible. It’s great to see so many people come together for TMH, and we’re proud to support a tournament that helps raise funds for the hospital and our community.”
TMHF thanks Smylie’s Your Independent Grocer, County Cemetery Company, 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours, Bay Marine Trenton, Oak Hills Golf Club, and all the sponsors, golfers, donors, volunteers and committee members who made the day possible.
Funds raised through the TMHF Golf Classic will go toward the Emerge Stronger campaign and the medical equipment required for the Emergency Department expansion, helping ensure the new space is equipped to provide care for patients in the community.
