The City of Belleville is inviting residents to roll up their sleeves and help make the community a little greener during a TD Tree Days event this September.
The City is working with TD to host the community planting event at Brimley Court on Saturday, Sept. 26. Volunteers will help plant 750 native trees and shrubs to enhance the local green space. The planting will help support wildlife habitat, improve stormwater management and contribute to the overall health of the local environment.
“TD Tree Days is a great opportunity for residents to come together and make a lasting contribution to our community,” said Mayor Neil Ellis. “The 750 native trees and shrubs being planted at Brimley Court will help strengthen this green space for years to come, and we are grateful to everyone who will be giving their time to help make this initiative a success.”
TD Tree Days is the flagship volunteer and urban greening program of the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF). The program gives community members an opportunity to spend time outdoors, connect with neighbours, friends and family, and contribute to local green spaces.
In 2026, TD is working with 75 organizations to plant more than 30,000 trees and shrubs through TD Tree Days events. These plantings will contribute to the more than 590,000 trees and shrubs planted by volunteers through the program since 2010.
Registration for the Belleville TD Tree Days event opens today, Aug. 20. Residents interested in participating can register here. Space is limited and advance registration is encouraged.
