The Northern Tornadoes Project out of Western University has confirmed that two tornadoes hit the Kingston region on Tuesday, June 30th.
Researchers arrived in the area on Friday to assess the storm path, debris field, and photos.
The first tornado on June 30th touched down near the Verona area at 12:30 p.m. The tornado was measured as an EF1 with a top wind speed of 150 km/hr. The storm caused damage to rural barns in particular.
The second tornado arrived in Kingston about 15 minutes later as a smaller EF0. The tornado caused damage to trees from CFB Kingston to Silver Corners, with estimated 115 km/hr winds.
No injuries were reported.
