A 51-year-old Belleville man has been charged following a reported roommate dispute.
Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end on Monday regarding an ongoing dispute between roommates in a rooming house.
Officers were advised that tenants had been experiencing continued issues with a male tenant. Police spoke with all parties involved and directed them to remain separated within the residence.
On June 30, 2026, police were called back to the same residence regarding a further dispute. Upon arrival, officers reviewed video footage that showed the male making a threatening gesture and pointing toward a female tenant.
As a result of police investigation, David Gomes, 51-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in September.
