Road closed in Tweed following crash late Wednesday night

A crash closed a road in Tweed overnight.

Central Hastings OPP posted the following notice to social media at 11:55 pm.

ROAD CLOSURE: Rapids Road between Martin Road and Marrisett Road in #Tweed is closed due to a collision. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.

There are no details yet about the crash or possible injuries, or when the road will reopen.

They also issued the following update at 5:15 am.

UPDATE (July 9 – 5:15 a.m.): Rapids Road between Martin Road and Marrisett Road in #Tweed remains closed following a single vehicle collision. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as the closure is expected to be lengthy.
