The Central Lakes Association of REALTORS® (CLAR) has released its June 2026 Housing Market Reports, which show a total of 1,617 home sales across its six Regions during the month. The results mark the fourth consecutive month in which all six CLAR Regions experienced month-over-month growth in sales activity. Housing markets continued to reflect local conditions, with average sale prices and new listing activity differing from one Region to the next.
“The continued increase in sales activity across all six CLAR Regions reflects growing buyer confidence and a stable real estate market,” said CLAR President Christine Riley. “Market conditions continue to create opportunities for both buyers and sellers in many communities. However, real estate trends can vary significantly from one area to another, making the guidance of a local REALTOR® invaluable in navigating the unique dynamics of regional market conditions and making informed buying or selling decisions.”
Hastings County saw 261 home sales in June, an increase of 17.6% compared to 222 to the month prior. The average selling price climbed to $543,907, up 1.4% from $536,571 in May. New listings declined to 531, down 10.2% month-over-month, while homes spent an average of 40 days on the market.
Prince Edward County recorded 47 home sales in June, 17.5% higher than the 40 recorded in May. The average selling price increased to $758,304, up 3.1% from $735,648 the previous month. New listings totaled 115, a decrease of 26.8% from May, while homes spent an average of 46 days on the market.
By comparison, Northumberland County logged 152 home sales in June, an increase of 18.8% from 128 in May. The average selling price adjusted to $677,570, down 2.6% from $695,364 month-over-month. “We commend the municipalities across our Region that have taken proactive steps to apply for funding from the new joint provincial and federal program to help offset development charges and support the creation of new housing,” said CLAR CEO Wendy Giroux. “Reducing barriers to new housing is an important step toward improving affordability and increasing housing supply. Continued collaboration between municipalities, our industry, and all levels of government will be essential to ensuring our communities can continue to grow and thrive.”
