Downed Hydro poles close roads in Quinte West

Some roads in Quinte West were closed on Wednesday night after a sudden and intense thunderstorm knocked down trees and Hydro poles.

Fire Chief John Whalen says they responded to eight separate calls between 7 and 8 pm on Wednesday.

As a result of downed Hydro lines, Baptist church road and Bird Road were closed as a precaution.

MacLellan Avenue in Trenton was also closed because of a downed tree.

There is no word at this time how long they will be closed.
