A local teacher was honoured with a special award on Tuesday night in Napanee.
Mayor Richardson presented Brian Lowry with the 2026 Senior of the Year Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Greater Napanee community.
Brian served the Napanee community as an elementary school teacher guiding young students not only in academics but in character and confidence.
Alongside his teaching career, he has been the owner and Chief Instructor at the Napanee Karate Club for over 35 years.
At 82 years old, Brian continues to teach karate four nights a week, exemplifying an extraordinary commitment to lifelong service and community involvement.
