The Quinte West OPP has charged a local man with impaired driving following a traffic stop this month.
On Friday, June 19 at approximately 1:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Hamilton Road, leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired.
33-year-old Nicholas McCrory of Quinte West faces a long list of charges, including;
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
- Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
- Speeding 1-49 Km/h over posted speed limit
- Fail to have insurance card
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Belleville Court on July 30, 2026. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
