City of Belleville Welcomes Dr. Elizabeth Ilora

By Paul Martin May 12, 2026 | 5:13 AM
The City of Belleville is pleased to announce the addition of a new family physician through the Belleville Family Physician Recruitment Program.
Dr. Elizabeth Ilora will be moving from the United Kingdom to Belleville this summer with her family to join her husband, who is already practicing as a family physician in the city. Dr. Ilora is expected to begin her practice this summer.
“The City of Belleville is very fortunate to be able to welcome Dr. Elizabeth Ilora to our beautiful community,” said Mayor Neil Ellis. “Her commitment to treating her patients and improving the health of the community will be a definite asset to the City, and we know she and her family will love living and working here.”
“I’m delighted to join the medical team in Belleville and look forward to serving the community and growing in this supportive environment,” said Dr. Ilora.
While health care and physician recruitment are not municipal responsibilities, the City of Belleville has recognized the need for local investment and has developed one of the most successful physician recruitment programs in the province. To date, the program has helped recruit more than 60 physicians and 10 nurse practitioners, with more than $9 million committed through a variety of funding sources.
Residents in need of a family physician or nurse practitioner are encouraged to register with Health Care Connect. The program is used by physicians and government agencies to match patients with available providers.
To register, call 1-800-445-1822 (TTY: 1-800-387-5559) or visit the Health Care Connect website.
