Quinte West is crediting new residential construction with a bump in building permit numbers in April.

Municipal building officials stated in its latest monthly building report that 39 permits were issued at a value of $22.1 million last month, compared to 37 permits issued for $4.1 million in April of 2025.

Two major projects provided permits last month include $92,000 for an agricultural project at 245 Floud’s Bridge Road and $16.1 million for a new residential build on 6 Douglas Rd.

Year-to-date building stats show 128 permits valued at $37.8 million through April 30.
There were 161 permits worth $22.3 million during the first four months of 2025.
