A domestic incident led to a seizure of firearms and an arrest in Prince Edward County this week.

Members of Prince Edward OPP began an investigation on Monday with assistance from the Tactical and Rescue Unit (TRU), executing a warrant at a local residence.

As a result of the warrant, several firearms were seized from the residence, and one person was charged with assault

The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton at a later date.

Victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault are not alone.
