Belleville Police arrested a suspect on multiple charges following a violent incident at a business in the city over the weekend.

On April 26th (Sunday afternoon) at 2:39pm, Belleville Police responded a business in the city’s west end regarding a report of a robbery. It was reported that a female entered the business, picked up merchandise, and left without attempting to pay. When an employee confronted her, the female physically assaulted the employee. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and were able to identify a suspect.

Later that same day, Belleville Police responded to an apartment complex in the city’s west end regarding an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers located the same female from the earlier incident inside the residence. As a result of investigation, a 28-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with robbery with violence. She was held for a bail hearing.
