Public assistance wanted in dangerous motorcycle driver incident

A motorcycle rider deemed to have been driving dangerously on Old Highway 2 in Belleville is at large and local police is seeking help in identfying this person.

In the early evening on Friday around 6 p.m., a motorcycle was seen speeding on Old Highway 2 and when officers on scene tried to halt the vehicle, the rider failed to stop and reportedly continued to drive at excessive speeds.

The motorcycle is a black Yamaha MT with a noticeable dent on the gas tank.

The licence plate is obstructed and not visible.

The rider is a male who was wearing black tactical-style boots, black cargo pants and a black sweater with white writing on the front and back, along with a full-face helmet adorned with a white emblem on the top.

The motorcycle was last seen eastbound past Point Anne Lane.

Belleville Police encourage anyone with information about the identity of this rider or the whereabouts of the motorcycle to contact Sgt. Brad Stitt from the Traffic Safety Unit at bstitt@bellevilleps.ca or Crime Stoppers.
