Wintry mix cues Special Weather Statement for Friday in Quinte

The first day of spring in Quinte brings upon another dose of pesky winter on Friday.

Environment Canada’s Special Weather Statement calls for between two to five centimetres of snow or ice pellets starting early Friday morning and going into the early afternoon before tapering off.

The threat of freezing rain is also a factor.

Environment Canada stated there may be an impact on rush hour traffic.

Roads and walkways may be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow or ice pellets and there is risk of injury due to slips and falls.

Friday’s high temperature is expected to be around four degrees, but it would be best to bundle up in the morning, with the wind chill feeling like -9.
