By Paul Martin Mar 25, 2026 | 5:11 AM

The OPP have issued an advisory warning people who are ice fishing west of Kingston to make way for a marine operation.

OPP NOTICE – A heads-up to those in the area of Bath and Amherst Island.

The Coast Guard vessel Des Groseilliers will be conducting ice breaking operations in the area this week, if required, to allow the cement carrier Tamarack to access a facility in Bath.

Anyone still ice fishing in the area should ensure they clear off the ice immediately.
