Belleville Police have laid several charges against a Madoc man following an incident earlier this week.
On March 5th (Thursday), Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding an alleged incident that occurred on March 2nd (Monday).
Upon arrival, it was reported that a male had attended a female’s residence, banged on the windows, and smashed a window attempting to gain entry.
Police were also told that the male had used her credit card to make multiple unauthorized transactions and had made threats towards her.
As a result of police investigation, officers located and arrested a suspect who reportedly attempted the flee from police but was apprehended a short distance away.
As a result, a 47–year–old Madoc man was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
• Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
• Fraud under $5000
• Mischief under $5000
• Resist peace officer
• Fail to comply with probation order
