401 in good shape on Wednesday after 12 hours of crashes on Tuesday across Quinte Region

It’s a much nicer start to the day on roadways across the Quinte region on Wednesday, making it a far cry from the chaos we saw on Tuesday morning.

There are no weather alerts or major issues on local highways.

It took half a day for things to get back to normal on Tuesday, after a series of crashes prompted by slick roads and poor visibility created major delays on the 401 from Port Hope to Kingston.

The final closure on the westbound 401 at Napanee finally cleared by 1 pm on Tuesday, almost 12 hours after it began.

East Region OPP posted on Tuesday morning on social media that there were no major injuries during the crashes.
