Lois Wint-Rose skates to Bronze at Ontario Winter Games

By Brock Ormond Feb 24, 2026 | 2:39 PM

14-year-old Lois Wint-Rose of the Quinte Blades Speed Skating Club skated strongly in Barrie at the Ontario Winter Games and brought back Bronze in 3000m team relay.

Lois has been skating with the Quinte Blades for 4 years and this was her first taste of the Elite Racing Circuit.  The fastest competitive Speed Skating Ontario athletes 14 to 16 year of age, were eligible for Ontario Winter Games 2026, which are a terrific opportunity for youth on a competitive pathway in sport excellence development.

Lois is a dedicated athlete for her own training, traveling to Kingston for additional ice sessions with the Kingston Striders, she also spends ice time with younger skaters as an athlete mentor.

Provincial Championships are up next in Newmarket, bringing skaters from across the Province together for youth and masters Championships.
