Boccia Week comes to Belleville

By Brock Ormond Feb 25, 2026 | 3:19 PM

The City of Belleville’s Community Services Department is excited to celebrate Boccia Week in Ontario with a free, all-ages event Thursday, Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. in the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre Gymnasium.

Whether you’re looking to try a new sport, meet great people, or cheer on talented local athletes as they gear up for competition, this fun and inclusive evening is the perfect opportunity to get involved.

Boccia is a dynamic and strategic Paralympic sport that welcomes players of all abilities. Originally developed for individuals with severe cerebral palsy, it has grown into a sport enjoyed by people with a wide range of abilities and experience levels.

Boccia Week in Ontario is a province-wide celebration of all things Boccia, sponsored by OCPSA/Ontario Boccia. Events are to focus on participation, inclusion and FUNdamentals. Our goal is to raise awareness, strengthen community engagement and inspire more people to participate in adaptive sports.

We hope to help individuals discover a sport that is truly built on community, one that welcomes everyone, celebrates ability in all forms, and creates a space where every athlete belongs.

Contact the Community Services Department at 613-966-4632 or email csdgeneral@belleville.ca with any questions about this event.
