Snow squall warning in Bay of Quinte Jan 19

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall warning for many parts of the Bay of Quinte Region for Monday, January 19th, 2026.

The affected area includes Brighton, Quinte West, Belleville, Napanee, Kingston and Centre Hastings.

Local snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm is expected. Poor visibility in areas of heavy and blowing snow is possible.

A Blizzard Warning has been issued for Prince Edward County, with snowfall totals expected between 20 and 40 cm. Snowfall in the Bancroft area is expected to be lighter.

The snow began falling on Sunday night and should pick up during the day Monday before ending on Monday night.

Westerly wind gusts to 70 km/h are expected to develop Monday afternoon, producing areas of blowing snow and poor visibility.

There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic Monday. Travel on Hwy 401 may be hazardous at times.

Prepare for possible disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities and travel with caution if necessary.

Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory is seeing whiteout conditions expected to last for the next few hours. Tyendinaga Police officials ask that members of the community restrict travel as the road conditions and visibility worsen.
