Quinte residents encouraged to offer feedback on high-speed rail routes

By Brock Ormond Jan 16, 2026 | 1:14 PM

Feedback is being encouraged from Quinte residents on two high-speed rail options, one of which runs close to the region.

Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette posted on his constituency page a map that shows the two high-speed rail routes currently being studied by Alto Train that will run between Toronto and Quebec City.
One option runs north, while the other runs south and closer to the Bay of Quinte Region and Kingston.
Malette stated this rail network, consisting of nearly 1,000 km of new electrified railway lines, could shape economic growth, connectivity, and opportunity for the community.
