Many school buses cancelled in Quinte on Monday

Northern parts of the Quinte Region may escape the worst of the winter storm on Monday, but officials aren’t taking any chances with school buses closer to Lake Ontario.

Due to expected lake effect snow squalls transportation is cancelled in the Centre Hastings, Belleville & Quinte West, Prince Edward County, Central and South Lennox & Addington, South Frontenac and Kingston area weather zones today (Monday, January 19th).

All other schools will remain open however any students driven to school by parents/guardians will need to be picked up at the end of the day.

All school buses with Mohawk Bus Lines were also cancelled for Monday.

STSCO NOTICE – Please be advised that, due to the forecasted inclement weather and poor road conditions transportation is cancelled in Northumberland County today, schools remain open. Transportation is operating in Peterborough City and County and the Municipality of Clarington.
