Building activity trends lower in December and 2025 in general in Quinte West

The City of Quinte West capped off the year of 2025 with a big downturn in December building permits issued.

The municipality issued 33 permits at a value of $6.8 million last month, a large drop from the 60 permits issued at $19.7 million in December 2024.

The highest permit issued was for $300,000 for a new equipment building on 692 Vermilyea Rd.

For the entire year of 2025, the numbers trended lower as well, with a drop to 568 permits last year from 2024’s 680 and a smaller construction value of $155.5 million compared to $203.7 million in 2024.
