Brighton resident to wear red and white in Italy next month

Brighton’s Hallie Clarke will represent her area and sport with pride at the upcoming Milan-Cortina Olympics.

The 21-year-old will make her Olympic debut in Italy after being named to Canada’s Skeleton Team.

Clarke is the first athlete to ever hold both the senior and junior ISBF World Championship titles at the same time.

In 2024, she became the youngest world champion ever in women’s skeleton at 19 years old.

Clarke is one of three Skeleton athletes competing from Feb. 12-15, looking to help Canada reach the podium in the sport for the first time since Jon Montgomery’s electric win on home soil in Vancouver in 2010.

The Olympics officially begin with the opening ceremony on Feb. 6.
