By Paul Martin Jan 19, 2026 | 5:12 AM

Monday is bringing another set of winter weather hazards in Quinte, with Prince Edward County expected to take the biggest hit.

Environment Canada has issued a Blizzard Warning for Prince Edward County.

Snowfall totals are expected to be between 20 and 40 cm.

High winds are also expected to be an issue.  Poor visibility in areas of heavy and blowing snow is possible.

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall warning for most of the rest of the Bay of Quinte Region for Monday, January 19th, 2026.

The affected area includes Brighton, Quinte West, Belleville, Napanee, Kingston and Centre Hastings.

Local snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm are expected. Snow is expected to be lighter in the Bancroft area.

The snow began falling on Sunday night and should pick up during the day Monday before ending on Monday night.

Westerly wind gusts to 70 km/h are expected to develop Monday afternoon, producing areas of blowing snow and poor visibility.

There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic Monday. Travel on Hwy 401 may be hazardous at times.
