An exciting weekend is in store for women in hockey and sports in Belleville.

The Belleville Bearcats are hosting the annual New Year’s Classic Friday through Sunday, starting with 8 a.m. puck drops Friday morning in Deseronto and Wellington.

Games will be held at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre in Belleville, Lehigh Arena in Wellington, the Deseronto Community Centre and the Dr. McMullen Recreation Centre in Frankford.

Around 80 teams from across Ontario, BC, Maine and New York, spread out through U11, U13, U15, U18 and Senior C age brackets, will descend upon the area, making it one of the largest sporting events in the province.

Many of these teams and their families will also get a chance to attend the Belleville Senators Women in Sports Night Saturday at 7 p.m. as the Sens take on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at CAA Arena.

The full schedule can be seen at this link. Follow standings from all age groups here.
