Postal labour strife could end early in new year

By Brock Ormond Dec 22, 2025 | 5:03 PM

Canada Post and the postal union have reached deals that could end more than two years of labour strife.

The postal service says the agreements spell out a total 9.5 per cent increase in the first two years, with pay hikes matching the annual inflation rate in the following years.

The tentative agreements also include enhanced benefits and a weekend parcel delivery model.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is urging members to accept the deals when they vote early in the new year.

CUPE represents 55,000 members of the postal service.
