A dangerous situation involving a firearm has been resolved in Tweed.
Central Hastings OPP began asking people in the immediate area of Jamieson St. East and Louisa St. in Tweed to shelter-in-place early Monday morning (around 12:25 am).
Officers were responding to a disturbance involving an armed individual contained and surrounded in a building.
No other details were provided of the original incident.
Roads in the area were closed and people were being asked to avoid that area as a precaution.
The advisory was lifted at 1:53 am.
One individual is in police custody, and no others are being sought.
Central Hastings OPP officials thanked the community for their cooperation and understanding. A police presence may remain in the area as the on-site investigation continues. No further information will be released at this time.
