Amherstview teen charged following flight from police in Kingston

Lennox and Addington County OPP has charged one person with impaired driving related charges following an incident that originated in the City of Kingston on Sunday.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m., L&A County OPP members were advised by Kingston Police of a vehicle that had been operating dangerously and fled from an attempted traffic stop in the city.

After visiting the owner’s residence and investigating, police located the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

Adam McGrath, 18, from Amherstview, was charged with driving while impaired, impaired with a blood alcohol concentration level above 80 and having a BAC above zero while being a novice driver.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 20, 2026.

Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.
