Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee stated he is pleased with the focus on protecting jobs and communities in the province’s Fall Economic Statement.

With tariffs taking direct aim at workers and industries right here in Hastings–Lennox & Addington, programs such as the Protect Ontario Financing Program and the Ontario Together Trade Fund are helping local businesses weather global pressures, diversify into new markets, and keep people employed across Eastern Ontario.

“Over the past three years, our government has delivered millions of dollars in local infrastructure and community investments that align directly with the priorities outlined in today’s Fall Economic Statement,” Bresee stated.

“From the new water tower in Bancroft, to the improved recreation centre in Amherstview, to ongoing upgrades across the riding, we are creating jobs, helping communities prepare to build more homes, and supporting families right here in Hastings–Lennox & Addington.

Bresee added through the Building Faster Fund and the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund, municipalities can continue to repair and modernize the roads, bridges, and water systems that rural and small-town residents depend on every day.

“New investments in home and community care, as highlighted in the Fall Statement, build on the health-care expansions already underway in our region, including support for hospitals, long-term care homes, and community health teams.”

“Hastings–Lennox & Addington is proof that responsible fiscal management and strategic investment go hand in hand. I’m proud that the work happening here reflects Ontario’s plan to protect jobs, strengthen communities, and build for the future and I’m grateful for the strong municipal leadership that makes this progress possible.
