Belleville Police charged a man with fraud after an incident involving a credit card.

On November 11th at 8:13pm, Belleville Police received a report that a female had lost her purse in the downtown area earlier in the evening.

Shortly after, she noticed unauthorized charges appearing on her bank cards, including a charge at a local hotel.

Officers attended the hotel, reviewed video footage and identified a suspect.

As a result of investigation, officers located, arrested and charged Dwayne Redcliffe, a 59-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, with fraud under $5000.

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
