The Learning Foundation hosts first annual Service Club Celebration

The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation (HPELF) held its first annual Service Club Celebration on Thursday night, recognizing the incredible generosity and community spirit of local service organizations.

Over the years, more than 45 service clubs have supported The HPE Learning Foundation through both financial contributions and volunteer efforts. Their ongoing commitment has helped ensure that students and families across Hastings and Prince Edward counties have access to essential programs and opportunities that support learning, growth, and well-being.

“The support of our local service clubs has been truly remarkable,” said Kellie Brace, Executive Director of The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation. “Their commitment ensures that children are nourished, equipped to learn, and able to reach their full potential. Together, we are building stronger schools and stronger communities.”

The celebration recognized the many ways service clubs contribute to HPELF’s initiatives, including Food for Learning, the Student Emergency Fund, the Sharing Cupboards, and resources in the classroom that provide direct support to students in need. Guests enjoyed a luncheon provided by Aspira, Quinte Gardens, stories of impact, and heartfelt thanks from the Foundation team.

“Service clubs have always been about helping people in our own backyard,” Tom Simpson, President of the Madoc Lions Club. “Madoc Lions are proud supporters of the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation.  They continue to keep our youth in the foreground with programs that are greatly needed.”
