B-Sens stumped by Rocket in preseason debut

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 3, 2025 | 10:53 PM

The Belleville Senators came out on the losing end of a 5-2 scoreline in their first preseason AHL game Friday night at CAA Arena versus the Laval Rocket.

Laval started strong and built out from there with Sean Farrell scoring off a rush in the first eight minutes and fellow veteran Alex Belzile following up to make the score 2-0.

Carter Savoie jammed home the rebound from a Tyler Angle shot, with Matthew Andonovski credited for the second assist, but the Rocket restored the two-goal advantage on a Joe Dunlap marker.

Tobie Bisson and Luke Tuch scored in less than a minute to pull Laval further away and chase Jackson Parsons from the Sens net in favour of Marco Costantini.

Phil Daoust’s powerplay marker from fellow returnees Garrett Pilon and Wyatt Bongiovanni chewed into the Rocket’s lead, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.

Final shots favoured Laval 27-22.

The Sens are back in action on Sunday, October 5 when they face the Toronto Marlies at 3 pm to wrap up the preseason.

Puck drop is scheduled for 3 pm at CAA Arena. The game will be broadcast on AHLTV by FloHockey.

$12 tickets are still available through Ticketmaster with $5 going toward the Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
