The Picton Pirates had a fun night in their home opener on Thursday, winning 5-2 over the Port Hope Panthers.

Cole Mulder scored his first two goals as a Pirate in the victory.

Gerrit Kempers and Jakob Gardner had a goal and an assist each and Nolan Lane made 21 saves to improve Picton to 2-1-1-0.

A busy night of junior hockey is on tap for Friday, with the Wellington Dukes hosting the Stouffville Spirit, the Trenton Golden Hawks taking on the St Michael’s Buzzers, the Trent Hills Thunder entertaining the Amherstview Jets and the Napanee Raiders welcoming the Lakefield Chiefs.

All games start at 7:30 p.m.
