County Transit service available for Picton Fair

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 2, 2025 | 4:02 PM

County Transit buses will be operating during the Picton Fair hours, with a stop right at the Fairgrounds gates, making it convenient to take the bus and enjoy everything the fair has to offer.

County Transit is a seamless option for fairgoers coming from Wellington and Bloomfield. The yellow Weekend Summer Connector route connects these towns every 70 minutes. The last bus will depart the Fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday night at approximately 11:20pm, conveniently timed for the end of the featured concerts and after the midway closes.

Riders can refer to the County Transit summer schedule for details, or use Google Maps to plan their route and schedule. Advice on how to use transit to get to the fair is below:

Take the Weekend Summer Connector buses (refer to the yellow/blue section on the schedule). The yellow route connects Wellington, Bloomfield, and Picton. The blue route connects Belleville, Rossmore, and Bloomfield (with transfers to the yellow route in Bloomfield).

The Weekend Summer Connectors do not normally stop at the Fairgrounds; howver, during the fair, the Crystal Palace stop will be added to the route between the Picton Harbour stop (#6) and the King St near Ross stop (#9). The bus will swing by the Fairgrounds shortly after the times listed for Macaulay Museum (#5). Be ready to board the bus at the Fairgrounds at the #5 stop times. The Crystal Palace stop will be located just outside the Fairgrounds on Main St.

For those driving themselves to the fair, parking at the Fairgrounds may be limited. It is possible to park in town and ride the bus to and from the fairgrounds. There is no charge for riders who are using transit to shuttle between in-town parking and the Fairgrounds – just inform the driver as you board.

Parking is recommended on King St, Mary St, or Market Lane parking lots or where parking is permitted on side streets. Board the bus at Mary St (#2) to get to the fair. On the way back to your vehicle, get off the bus at King St near Ross (#9).

The Summer Weekend Connector service ends on Sunday, Sep 7, coinciding with the end of the Picton Fair.
