Charges have been made against a man following a reported verbal altercation Wednesday morning in Belleville.

Around 9:45 a.m., a domestic abuse situation was reported in the west end.

City police discovered a man had attended a woman’s residence, which led to an argument and the woman being pushed off her bicycle.

Upon further investigation, officers learned that the male was in breach of his probation order by being in communication with the female.

A 56-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with assault and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

He was held for a bail hearing.
