Lengthy 2nd Dug Hill Road closure scheduled to begin Aug. 25th

A section of 2nd Dug Hill Road between Highway 2 and Loyalist Parkway will close to through traffic beginning Aug. 25, 2025, until spring 2026 for a water and sewer installation as part of the Trenton trunk sewer project.

Southbound traffic will be detoured west onto Highway 2, south onto County Road 40, and east onto Loyalist Parkway.

Northbound traffic will be detoured west onto Loyalist Parkway, north onto County Road 40, and east onto Highway 2.

2nd Dug Hill Road from Highway 2 to Loyalist Parkway will be open to local traffic only.

About the Trenton trunk sewer project – A new trunk sewer is being installed in the west end of Trenton, extending from downtown to 2nd Dug Hill Road. This project will support growth in the west end of the city and increase water and sewer capacity for up to 5,000 new homes. Work will continue through 2027.
