A reported assault in the wee hours of Tuesday morning in Belleville led to a list of charges for a 38-year-old Kingston resident.

Before 1 a.m., a west end dispute had been reported to Belleville Police that reportedly involved a male party assaulting a woman.

During the arrest, police say the male repeatedly spat at officers.

The accused faces charges of assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, assaulting a peace officer and failing to comply with probation.

He was held for a bail hearing.
